PROJECT OVERVIEW
A self-led co-design project with a family of Korean cultural background. Todak focuses on problem-solving the health issues of a pregnant woman - Stephanie. Troubled by physical discomforts and poor mental health, Todak-todak has evolved into a furniture set that draws inspiration from cultural traditions guiding the reinterpretation of comforting spaces, belonging and empowerment within the everyday.

Navigating a transcending journey of parenthood is to adapt and adjust each step of the way.

Transforming from an anchored dividing partition to a multileveled interactive surface, Todak encourages play as an active act of care.
- The partition helps to organize the space and traffic in the room.
- The set interacts with all the involved stakeholders, including a kids’ play zone, lifestyle support for a mother, and support systems for managing work from home and maintaining a day and night routine.
- It serves as a communication tool, signifying the need for privacy or support and company.
- The Korean motifs empower a sense of support and belonging.
